The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Michhil took place in the presence of author Pracheta Gupta, director Surajit Nag, Basabdatta Chatterjee, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Raja Narayan Deb and others.

The film is by Ujjwal Basu and Surajit Nag and is based on a story by eminent Bengali writer Pracheta Gupta.

Basabdatta will be seen in the role of Sreemoyee in the film. She is a girl who has self respect. The film is about the crisis in her life. The actress revealed that she did not have to do much to portray Sreemoyee as she was a lot like her. She also gave importance to self respect. Basabdatta has three back to back releases this year, so this year is important for her. She just hoped that this film is liked by the audience.

There are four songs in the film- Aamer talai jhamur jhumur, Momo chitte, Shono phurono raat male and Shono phurono raat female.

Raja Narayan Deb praised the director and mentioned that he was very comfortable to work with. That helped him when composing the music of the film.

Bhaswar Chatterjee plays a boy next door character in the film. He meets Sreemoyee as their families want them to get married. What happens next? The actor did not reveal much about his character. However he mentioned that the film will be liked by all. Since the audience are now watching different kind of films, he hoped that they will also love this film.

Surajit Nag read the short story by Pracheta Gupta in a magazine and he was immediately attracted to the story. Most of the stories by Pracheta Gupta have the cinematic element and this was nothing different. Hence he wanted to make the story into a film.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
