A film adaptation of Macbeth by Rajhorshee De, Mayaa centers on the overarching themes of greed, ambition, sin, and corruption. The movie conveys the concept of how each character’s behavior was motivated by ambition, greed, heartlessness, and the desire for total power through the use of multiple characters and subplots inside the main plot. This is the first-ever Bengali film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

The cast, crew, singers, and musicians of the movie all gathered at Diamond Plaza Mall in Kolkata for the formal music launch of the movie.

Presented by DSR Entertainment House and Produced by Debdas Banerjee and Rohit Banerjee, this film has 19 top actors from Bengal.

Directed by Raajhorshee De, this is his next release after the huge success of Abbar Kanchanjhungha. The film is based on the perspective of women’s empowerment.

The cast of the film consists of Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Tanusree Chakraborty, Richa Sharma, Koneenica Banerjee, Sudipta Chakraborty, Ranieeta Dash, Ratasree Dutta, Devlina Kumar, Sudiptaa Banerjee, Sayantani Guhathakuta, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Gourab Chatterjee, Rahul Arunoduoy Banerjee, Anindya Chatterjee, Ishan Mazumder, Rohit Banerjee, Ashim Roy Chowdhury, and Kan Singh Sodha.

The music has been composed by Ranajoy Bhattacharjee and Rupankar, Somlata, and Ujaan have lent their voices to the songs in the film.
