Nephrohelp’s Guide to Nephrotic Syndrome Released
In the august presence of Dr. Jaydeb Ray, Daniele Panfilo, Vivek Gupta, Amey Agarwal, Apurba Ghosh, and Dr. Rajiv Ghosh, the guide Nephrohelp’s Guide to Nephrotic Syndrome was unveiled.
The guide provides an in-depth understanding of the complex condition- Nephrotic Syndrome. This condition affects the kidneys and leads to different complications, primarily in children.
Due to this condition, the kidneys leak a large amount of protein into the urine. This leads to different problems like swelling of body tissues and increases the chances of getting infections. Several countries consider Nephrotic syndrome as a disability.
The program was organized on the occasion of World Kidney Day.
The biggest problem while treating children with this condition is the misconception in the parents’ minds. The book was written to make the parents aware of the do’s and don’t’s of caring for their kids regularly.
Nephrohelp organized the program in association with the Institute of Child Health, Kolkata.
Nephrohelp is a charitable initiative by a young student Amey Agarwal to support kids with Nephrotic Syndrome. Amey got this idea as he himself was a victim of this syndrome since the age of two years. With the proper treatment of Dr. Rajiv Sinha, he is in a better condition now. Hence he thought of starting this initiative to help underprivileged children with this condition.
A great initiative indeed.
