Even though it seems impossible, this narrative will make you root for the human dentist who lives next door and the disobedient vampire! Welcome to the world of Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, a Netflix romantic fantasy thriller written and directed by Pratim Dasgupta and produced by Endemol Shine India. Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Tanya Maniktala as the charming Roy and Rumi, will begin streaming on Netflix on April 20.
Set in Kolkata, the Maidan Metro Station, Nonapukur Tram Depot, the Babughat Bridge, and the Howrah phool-ghat amongst many other iconic attractions will be shown in this series.
“Magical, thrilling, and unapologetically romantic, Tooth Pari is a fantastical fairy tale set in contemporary Kolkata. While it is fundamentally a traditional tale of a vampire and a human falling in love, it is also a positive fable bursting with humanity. Some of the top actors in the nation are included in the series, and they channel their wild side to really inhabit these distinctive characters. With its distinctive visual style and compelling narrative, Tooth Pari should help its viewers form strong bonds with one another” said creator and director of the series Pratim Dasgupta.
Shantanu Maheshwari said in a statement after the release of the trailer, “The trailer barely scratches the surface of what’s in store for the viewers in this unbelievable love story. It’s a romantic thriller with subtly humorous undertones that I think are a very original and distinctive approach to the vampire genre. We are quite thrilled about the release because the plot is brand-new, distinct, and will provide a groundbreaking experience”.
The writers of the series are Pratim Dasgupta and Sejal Pachisia.
The dialogues have been penned by Shruti Madan, Roopal Kewalya, and Pratim Dasgupta.
The cast consists of Shantanu Maheshwari, Tanya Maniktala, Sikander Kher, Adil Hussain, Revathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Tillotama Shome, Anish Railkar, Rajatava Dutta, Swaroopa Ghosh, Avijit Dutt.
