O P Jindal Global University organized a press meet cordially to announce new courses in Law & Legal Studies, Social Sciences & Economics.

The press conference was addressed by- Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar- Founding Vice Chancellor, O P Jindal Global University & Prof. Tom Goldstein, Dean, Jindal School of Journalism & Communication, O P Jindal Global University.

The spokesperson also spoke on- “From Institution of Eminence to World class universities”-A 10 point growth and reform plan for Indian Universities to achieve global rankings.

The ten point growth include not for profit and philanthropic university, academic freedom and institutional autonomy, multidisciplinary university and interdisciplinary learning, transparent admission process with no management quota, internationalisation at the heart of institution building, hiring of outstanding faculty as inspiring teachers and prolific researchers, building a culture of research and publications, institutionalising accreditation, rankings and benchmarking, promoting diversity, inclusion and accessibility and developing active participation of all stakeholders for good governance.

Both the speakers highlighted on the need for Indian higher educational institutions to be at par with their international counterparts and also invest in strategies, vision, research and infrastructure to ensure that they can break into globally recognised international rankings.

The list of new programs that the university will be offering in 2020 include BA Hons in Political Science, BA Hons in Social Science and Policy, BA Hons in Legal Studies, MA in Economics, BA Hons Global Affairs at Jindal School of International Affairs and BA in Built Environment Studies at Jindal School of Art & Architecture.

The university has a student strength of over 5000 students from different parts of India and abroad. Over fifty percent of the students receive scholarship depending on the merit and family income.
