The hospital began its journey in the 1980s when a group of non-resident Bengali neurosurgeons saw the exodus of patients from Bengal to other parts of India due to a lack of infrastructure. The hospital was started as a non-profit, affordable institute with the highest quality of skilled doctors.

The hospital now has 210 beds, 70 non-practicing consultants, and 350 nurses.
