Presented by Newsbeat Media India Group, Roy’s Taekwondo Academy, Epicsphere Entertainment, and Third Eye Photography, the Newsbeat Media Durgapujo Fashion League offered Kolkata a breathtaking fusion of fashion, culture, and community spirit. Seven of Kolkata’s leading Durga Puja clubs participated in the event, which took place at the elegant Regenta Orkos Kolkata. A distinctive fashion ramp that honored the spirit of Durga Puja was on display.

The event was graced by Arunakshya Bhattacharjee, Chief Sub-Editor at ABP (Ananda Bazar Patrika), a renowned poet, painter, social worker, philosopher, and speaker.

 The distinguished Jury panel consisted of Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy, International Master Ruma Roy Chowdhury, Mrs. Suparna Mukherjee – Mrs. Universe Perfect, Mrs. Arpita Bose – Mrs. Bengal 2nd Runner-Up, Devjani Mitra – Founder of I Glam and Mrs. Jyoti Jain – A renowned cosmetologist and makeup trainer.

The special Guests of Honour included Mrs. Parul Sehgal Gulati (Mrs. India Universe Fabulous 2018), Pandit Achinta Bhattacharya (Pradhan Raj Ganak, Gupta Press Panjika), Miss Orindrila Satra (Assistant Director, Tollywood), and Mr. Subhadeep Mitra (Fashion Designer).

The Durgapuja clubs that took part in this unique fashion showcase were Santoshpur Tricone Park, Bhowanipur 75 Palli, Talapark 15 Pally, Jagat Mukherjee Park, Dumdumpark Sarbojanin, Pally Unnyan Samity and Khidderpore Yubak Sangha Club.

Members from these clubs, including talented individuals such as Puja Das, Sampriti Dutta, Moumita Paul, Ankita Das, Akash Shaw, Rikta Dev, Rohini Bhattacharjee, Subham Shaw, Rumeli Chatterjee, Sohini Saha, Poulumi Maity, Soumil Sarkar, Surajit Das, Anirban Dey, Shreya Paul Veronica Mukherjee, Poonam Basu, Upasana, Anwesa Kangsa Banik, Subir Das, Debjit Paul, Maitree Dutta, Deblina Sadhukhan, Binita Ghosh, Mitali Bhattacharjee, Sohini Saha, Aman Singh, Subhransu Shree mesmerized the audience.

The showstoppers were Akash Bharati and Subhra Sengupta.

 The fashion designs were curated by Subhadeep Mitra.

The audience was captivated by the unique blend of melodies and rhythms performed by the Indo-Western musical band “Agni” from South City International School, which consisted of young musicians between the ages of 12 and 15.

The band members include lead vocalists, Shreyanshu and Roshni, Guitarist, Shreesh, Tabla player, Yudhajit, Aharshi and Vivaan, Cajon player, Aditya, Flute player, Ryka, Keyboardist, Janak.

An amazing dance performance by special children from Behala Anwesha The Quest showcased the inclusiveness. Performers were Surja Sekhar Basu, Soumyajit Naskar, Suvojit Chakraborty, Nehal Dhanuk, Aparna Roy and Anurag Bhowmik.

It was a grand event just before the Durga Puja indeed.
