NIPHA Group Marks 65 Years Of Pioneering Innovation & Social Impact
NIPHA Group, an Indian engineering and manufacturing company, commemorated its jubilee by launching Grihasth Rishi, a biography of its famous Chairman Emeritus, Late Shri G. D. Shah, marking a remarkable 65-year journey of pioneering innovation and societal contributions.
The event was attended by Shri R. S. Goenka, Founder & Non-Executive Chairman, of Emami Group, Shri Saroj Kumar Poddar, Chairman, of Adventz Group, Shri Raj Anand, Executive Chairman, of Southern States LLC, and Shri Satya Narayan Sharma, Former Minister, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The festivities were led by NIPHA Chairman Shri M. C. Shah and ended with a heartfelt homage to the company’s history through a Sarod performance by Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Saheb and his family (sons Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, and grandsons Abeer and Zohaan Ali Bangash).
Since its establishment in 1960, NIPHA has been a key player in India’s industrial revolution. From producing jute machinery parts, the company has expanded to provide a wide range of goods, such as ferrous and non-ferrous castings, forged and hot-formed components, precision-machined parts, and gearboxes. Additionally, the business specializes in equipment and sub-assemblies designed especially for the jute and agricultural sectors. NIPHA has established a strong footprint in West Bengal because to its smart investments in platforms like NowPurchase and its entry into microfinance through Sarwadi Finance. The business exports its goods to more than 30 nations across the globe.
To strengthen its nearshore presence in its biggest market and take advantage of the current China +1 strategy, NIPHA stated that it had acquired a U.S.-based company. To further show its dedication to the area and the possibility of creating jobs, NIPHA also unveiled plans for two Greenfield projects in Dankuni (1,50,000 sq ft) and Chandannagar (1,35,000 sq ft), as well as a Brownfield expansion in Falta (50,000 sq ft). NIPHA is a proud international business with strong ties to Bengal that is committed to developing its wide range of engineering skills and creating jobs in the area.
With more than 70% of the region’s weaving machinery renovated, NIPHA is spearheading the modernization of West Bengal’s jute mills. Additionally, it has grown to be West Bengal’s biggest producer of agricultural equipment, gaining the confidence of local farmers.
