NiT-LiT-A Great Celebration Of Childhood On Children’s Day
On Children’s Day, Narula Institute of Technology presented its annual Inter-Institute Literary Festival, NiT-LiT, which celebrates childhood and literature as a potent combination for encouraging creativity, empathy, and lifelong learning. This year’s event brought nearly 800 people, including 350 schoolchildren and 450 college students, for a great celebration of words, ideas, and creativity.
NiT-LiT 2024 included an engaging mix of literary activities, including Debate, JAM, Creative Writing, Storytelling, Recitation, Skits, and interactive games that captivated young minds.
The festival saw amazing participation from several esteemed schools like Aditya Academy Senior Secondary School, Dumdum Kishore Bharati, Barisha Janakalyan Vidyapith for Girls, Belgharia Jatindas School for Girls, Dumdum Shree Aravinda Vidyamandir, Kasba Jagadish Vidyapith for Girls, and Khardah Sibnath High School. Many of the schools received multiple awards.
Speaking at the event, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group, said, “JIS Group believes that fostering curiosity and creativity through reading is one of the finest gifts for young brains. NiT-LiT 2024 at Narula Institute of Technology illustrates how literature can bridge the gap between comprehension, empathy, and inspiration, cultivating a generation of lifelong learners”.
The festival concluded with a lavish closing ceremony with Chandan Sen, the acclaimed thespian, award-winning dramatist, and author. His speech created an indelible impression on the young literary aficionados, encouraging them to dive deeper into the realm of literature. The presence of Heads of Institutions (HOIs) from various schools in Kolkata added to the event’s mood.
