Singer Riddhi Bandopadhyay who is an accomplished singer in her own right organized her new endeavour-Nari-An Unsung Story. The event saw the presence of Devajit Bandopadhyay, Director, Academy Theatre, Kaushik Sen, Madhabi Mukhopadhyay and others.

The audience saw an opera style musical performance where timeless numbers of yesteryear stars like Binodini, Tinkari, Molina Devi, Ketaki Dutta and others were performed.

Singers of the bygone times were denied their due simply because of their origins. However they kept contributing to the genre of Puratoni songs of Bengal. Most of these singers were from the red-light areas.

Some of the performers at the event included Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, Kaushik Sen,  Avirup Sengupta, Gulzar Hossain Ujjal from Bangladesh and others.

With the help of this musical event, tribute was paid to these ladies who contributed so much to the musical genre of Bengal in their own way.
