Oscar Contender Of Bangladesh “Hawa” To Release In India

Hawa‘ brought a new wave to the Bangladeshi film industry.  The film has been much appreciated by critics and audiences alike.

The film is directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon.

A press conference was held at Kolkata and was attended by actress Nazifa Tushi, director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Sreyashii Sengupta, CEO of South East Asia Continental Entertainment Pte Ltd (CEPL) Singapore, and Ajoy Kumar Kundu, Executive Producer of Sun Music & Motion Pictures Bangladesh.

The movie’s production company, Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited, revealed that Continental Entertainment Private Limited (CEPL), a business based in Singapore, will distribute the movie through Reliance Entertainment in India.

The myth, fantasy, and mystery-thriller movie “Hawa” was a major hit among Bangladeshi moviegoers after it premiered there on July 29, 2022. Even four months after its initial debut, it is still playing in theatres and making a profit, and winning hearts. The movie has been widely praised by critics and has been screened at many international film festivals and diaspora gatherings. This movie has received a nomination for the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars), which will take place in 2019, in the category of “Best International Feature Film.” The movie will now have a wide release in India through Reliance Entertainment after a very successful run in Singapore under CEPL.

Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Sukorno Shahed Dhiman, and Jaheen Faruque Amin have written the screenplay of ‘Hawa’.

The film is made under the banner of Facecard Productions.

The cast includes Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Sariful Islam Razz, Sumon Anowar, Nasir Uddin Khan, Shohel Mondol, and others.

Hawa releases in Kolkata and West Bengal on 16th December and across several cities in India on 30th December in Cinemas with English subtitles.
