Parental Alienation Syndrome and Shared Parenting Discussed at Event Organized by Ayushman
In the august presence of Koushik Chatterjee, Joint Secretary, Sumit Sinha, President, Arijit Mitra, Secretary, Dr Adrija Rahman Mukherjee and Nandini Bhattacharjee, a press meet was organized by Ayushman Initiative to celebrate Father’s Day.
Ayushman is a non-profit organization working in the field of child rights especially focusing on Parental Alienation and Shared Parenting for children caught between mental disputes and custody battles.
The theme of the press meet was Father Child Relationship.
The speakers highlighted on the fact how the children are the victims of such cases. “The father or the mother in order to get the custody often labels the other parent as evil. This is not good for the psyche of the child. But if you ask a 5 or 6 year old child, who he/she wants to stay with, the child will not have any answer. But if the child is constantly being fed bad information about the other parent, then the child may something else. This must be stopped as this has repercussions in the long run in the life of the child” said Dr Adrija Rahman Mukherjee.
Parental Alienation Syndrome has been recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a disease in their meeting held in May 2019.
As Dr Mukherjee highlighted, a couple may be divorced but parents cannot be divorced. They must find a way between to take care of the child and take steps for their mental and physical well being.
After the press meet, the newsletter from Ayushman was unveiled at the meet.
With the help of such meets, it can be hoped that fundamental rights of the children can be ensured and that they can grow up in good environment.
