Durga Puja is just around the corner. And with Mahalaya, we all start our preparations to welcome the Mother Goddess.

Like every year, Sun Bangla will also be organizing a Mahalaya special program for its viewers. It is titled Akal Bodhan.

Payel De will enact the role of Mahishasurmardini. Payel Dey is an eminent actress. She has enacted the role of Durga many times for the small screen. She took a break for some years. And in 2025, she is back again with this role.

The actress said, “It is my great luck that I again got to portray this role. This is a dream come true for dancers. Most dancers and actresses want to portray Mahishasurmardini. I last did this role in 2017 for a television channel. I was on a break for some years. The Mahalaya special episode blends the original story with a contemporary touch. I am becoming nostalgic after portraying Mahishasurmardini again”.

Payel is now busy portraying the character Alo in Sun Bangla’s serial Kon Se Alor Swapno Nie. The character of Alo is gaining considerable fame among the audience.

The actors and actresses who work in the different Sun Bangla serials will be seen in various roles in Akal Bodhon.

Akal Bodhon will be aired on Mahalaya on Sun Bangla.
