PBIN & Medhavi Join Hands To Improve Professional Nursing Skills
Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Land and Land Reforms & Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation, Planning and Statistics, Programme Monitoring, stated in Kolkata that upgrading nursing has become crucial in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the collaboration of Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing (a unit of Belle Vue Clinic) and Medhavi Skillversity is a welcome step. She launched a collaborative effort to improve nursing professionals’ skills.
She also said that this educational program would benefit the medical community, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical personnel, who have the desire to travel and use their skills abroad.
Following the pandemic, nursing has seen a substantial transformation as technology takes the stage. The need to upskill healthcare personnel globally is urgent given the changes in nursing care. Following significant technological advancement in the post-COVID age, health organizations must train their nurses in everything from remote patient monitoring to using technologies to understand a patient’s demands.
The PBIN-Medhavi collaboration project’s goal is to concentrate on developing nursing skills, behaviors, and principles that enable them to work according to international standards. By introducing a variety of tailored upskilling programs, PBIN and Medhavi Skillversity hope to address these issues. All healthcare practitioners, including physicians and allied health professionals, will later be included in this.
The courses offered by Medhavi Skillversity include basic life support courses, advanced cardiac life support courses, pediatric advanced life support courses, advanced trauma care nurses, nursing trends of the 21st century, end-of-life care, geriatric considerations, nursing in crisis, and conflict management, among others.
The courses offered by PBIN include General Nursing and Midwifery (3 years), B. Sc Nursing (4 years), Post Basic B. Sc Nursing (2 years), and M. Sc Nursing (2 years).
