Performance Of Rava Artists As Highlight Of The First Edition Of The Forest Music Festival
They are the jungle’s indigenous people. They’ve been living in the North Bengal jungle for a long time. They sing and dance in their own language in the village. Dance and song have long been a part of their culture. They sing songs that are written in the Rava language. When visiting Dooars, many tourists listen to their songs. Self-made musical instruments are used to accompany the dance.
The 21st of March was designated as International Forest Day. The Dreamers Music PR Agency commemorated the first season of the “Forest Music Festival” on this occasion. The event was seen on “The Dreamers'” official Facebook page.
The special attraction of the event was the music performance of the Rava people.
There were also a bunch of young artists from Kolkata and North Bengal who performed at the event. And there were songs rendered by Madhuryo Mukherjee (Barle Boyesh), Rick Biswas (Bade Achhe Lagte Hai), Ritban Guha (Jamaica Farewell), Aritra Mukherjee (Mary Ann), Ayan Chakraborty (Illahi), Nilanjan Saha (Na Tum Jano Na Hum), Anunay Chamling Rai on flute, Shubham Ghosh( Maharaj Eki Saje), on Sitar, Sourojyoti Chatterjee on violin, Tirthankar Sarkar Das on the guitar made the musical session enjoyable.
