The team of the upcoming Bengali film Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti consisting of director Aritra Mukherjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Soham Majumdar, Ujjaini, Surangana Bandyopadhyay and others graced the event.
Speaking at the event, Ritabhari said “Periods is just a biological process. But people make a huge issue out of it. Women are not allowed to enter the puja rooms or temples or even cook in certain households. But why such discrimination based on a biological process? With the film, we aim to raise awareness about the fact that periods are not a problem but simply a biological process. And there must not be so much issue about it”.
Surangana and Ujjaini sang songs from the film. There are four songs in the film and the ones that have released have been getting great feedback from the audience.
Soham said “Men say that periods are a problem for women. But as equals, periods must not be treated as a problem. Rather it must be treated as a biological process which a woman undergo. She should be supported during those five days and not made to feel uncomfortable by telling wrong things”.
The film is eyeing for release on 6th March.
