Naw Para Dada Bhai Sangha Durgotsab Committee organized a press meet to announce the Durga Puja theme in 2022.

Gracing the occasion were Sougata Roy (Member of the Lok Sabha), Anjan Pal, and other eminent guests.

This is the 19^th year of this Durga Puja.

The theme this year is Porichoy-The Identity.

Prostitutes have always been disliked and looked down upon by society since time immemorial. They are sought after by men for satisfying their sexual desires. But after that, they are looked at as uncouth individuals who are not fit for society. Though there might be many laws for such individuals, has society really accepted them? However, it is the prostitutes who will have to take the steps to earn for themselves a position in society. No one else will help them in this journey. This is what is the theme this year for Naw Para Dada Bhai Sangha Durgotsab Committee.

This is also the first time that a Durga idol will be made from silicone.

The inauguration will happen on26th September (Monday) at 5 pm. Gracing the inauguration will be Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha and other eminent guests.
