Poster and Trailer Launch of Bengali Film Buddhu Bhutum: The Monkey Prince
The poster and trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Buddhu Bhutum: The Monkey Prince took place in the presence of director Nitish Roy, Kaushik Chakraborty, Koneenica Banerjee, Surajit Chatterjee, Manali Dey and others.
Buddhu Bhutum is adaptation of the musical series Kalabati Rajkanya from the famous Bengali fable Thakurmar Jhuli written by Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumdar. The story is about the brother-sister duo of Buddhu and Bhutum and how they save their kingdom from the hostilities of the dragons.
The script and dialogues have been transcribed by Kaushik Bandopadhyay and Mrinmoy Mondal is the DOP of the movie.
The shooting of the film began in 2015 and the film is releasing after a span of over three years. “I was always excited to make a film for children as such films are hardly made in Bengal. I must thank the actors who have co-operated with me completely and due to that reason I could do the film so easily. I am glad that the film is finally releasing just before the Durga Pujas” said the director.
The music of the film has been composed by Surajit Chatterjee. Speaking at the occasion, the music composer said “The music has been created keeping in mind the fact that this is a fantasy film for children. The scale in which the film has been made is great and this is indeed a great film for the Bengali audience. They have not seen visual effects on such a grand scale before”.
Devlina Kumar mentioned that this film was a learning experience for her as she did the film when she hardly knew anything about acting in films. She also added that the director was very sweet to her and never scolded her.
Koneenica said “I did not know how to act in a Chroma setting. Only green walls were present around me and I had to think that the flower is falling on my hand and river is flowing by my side. This was a new experience and I learnt a lot from it”.
Kasuhik Chakraborty (King of Biratgarh), Sankar Chakraborty (Minister of Biratgarh), Gautam Halder (General of Biratgarh), Locket Chatterjee (1st Queen), Koneenica Banerjee (2nd Queen), Devlina Kumar (3rd Queen), Manali Dey (Princess Bhutum) and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
The film is eyeing for release on 20th September.
