The poster and trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Bohomaan took place in the presence of the director Anumita Dasgupta, Soumitra Chatterjee, Aparna Sen, Bratya Basu, Arpita Chatterjee, Sohag Sen and others.

The film revolves around Madhuri (Aparna Sen) who finds her lost fiancé Salim Khan (Soumitra Chatterjee) after fifty years. Her son Subrata (Bratya Basu) disapproves the renewal of the affair of his mother. His wife Joyeeta (Arpita Chatterjee) argues with him and creates a complicated situation. Madhuri hence must make a decision before time runs out. What happens next?

Soumitra Chatterjee said “During the making of the film, one has to undergo different kinds of hardships. But one has to overcome them and complete the film. The director has done that and I hope that the audience loves and appreciates the film that she has made”.

“The first reason why I said yes to the film is getting to work with Soumitra Chatterjee again. Secondly the story is also very good. It is a story of different relationships. Relationship between a mother and a son, between husband and wife, between estranged fiancé and others has been shown in the film” said Aparna Sen.

Arpita Chatterjee was overwhelmed at the fact that she had shared screen space with great actors like Soumitra Chatterjee, Aparna Sen and Bratya Basu. According to the actress, she had a great time working in the film and was looking forward to the release of the film.

The director revealed that she was scared of Bratya Basu initially. However during the shooting of the film, that feeling went away.

Goutam Halder will be seen in a very different character in the film. He will be playing the role of a LGBT personality. “One of the best things about this film is that nothing has been treated with hype. Everything has been treated like normal events. With the case of the character played by Goutam, the director has ensured that it is not blown out of proportion” added Aparna Sen.

Goutam Halder, Shonali Sanyal, Sarbajoy Dey, Sanchita Banerjee, Raya Dutta, Chandrima Mitra, Swapan Banerjee and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The editor of the film is Arghyakamal Mitra.

The story, screenplay and direction of the film are by Anumita Dasgupta.

The music and background score is by Pandit Tanmoy Bose. “I have used a 1930’s jazz song in the film. There are also other genres of song in the film too. Different kinds of musical instruments used globally have been used in the film. Silence is also music in the film. Where there is no music, silence speaks a lot in the film” said the music composer.

The film is eyeing for release on 29^th November.
