The film Sohorer Upokotha is based on the play Baki Itihash by Badal Sarkar that was written in 1965. The play highlighted the moral decay of society. The play was written in 1965 but is equally relevant in today’s times. So many things happen beyond our routine life. We either ignore these incidents or protest against them on social media platforms. Can these social evils be stopped? It questions the fact of how can one sit and enjoy these happenings while society is decaying every day. This is the main theme of Sohorer Upokotha.
Shubhasish Mukhopadhyay, Joy Sengupta, Bidipta Chakraborty, Rahul Banerjee, Anindya Banerjee, Basabdatta Chatterjee, Lama Haldar, Rajat Ganguly, Pradip Bhattacharya, Sandip Mandal, Aritra Dutta, Subhasis Banerjee, Debranjan Nag, and Arpan Bose will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
