The premiere of Pavel’s Bengali film Asur took place in the presence of the director, Jeet, Abir Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan, Bickram Ghosh and others.

Durga Puja attracts the largest number of people in Asia. No film has been ever made on the biggest art carnival in Asia- Durga Puja. And the director wanted to showcase the efforts that went behind the making of the Durga Puja. The Deshapriya Park Durga Puja was the only Durga Puja which was banned. That story has been picked as the story’s backdrop and then fictionalized as per the demands of the script.

The film is about an independent artist Kigan who creates the tallest Durga idol in Kolkata. This leads to a huge crowd gathering and the situation goes out of control. The film also focuses on the friendship between three friends namely Kigan (Jeet), Bodhi (Abir) and Aditi (Nusrat). Aditi is the love interest of Jeet.

The film is Pavel’s tribute to the eminent artist Ramkinkar Baij.

Bickram Ghosh has composed the music of the film. There are three songs in the film.

The film is running at different single screens and multiplexes in the city.
