The press conference of director Anirban Paria’s film Neem Phul took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Akash is a reporter of a television channel and he is assigned with the task to go to Malda for an assignment. He travels to the place to make a documentary film on Gour and also seeks help from historian Benimadhab Roy Choudhury as he was an expert on Gour. He meets Ratri who is the grand-daughter of Benimadhab. Akash begins to shoot the documentary film featuring Benimadhab. Ratri accompanies Akash to visit various places in Gour and they fell in love. But they did not express their feelings for each other.

During one such meeting, while he was shooting Ratri goes missing. Akash reports about her disappearance. After some days she is recovered in critical condition as she got raped by some people. Who raped her? Will she get justice?

Speaking at the press meet, Debdut Ghosh said “I have done small roles in big films and big roles in small films. However I have enjoyed working in this film as the director was my friend for a long time. The story is also very good and relevant. Since Dwijen babu died, his dubbing was done by Biswajit Chakraborty. This proves that fraternity still exists among the actors in Bengal and I am glad about that”.

Raghav Chatterjee who has sung the song Rong Tuli mentioned that he had a great time recording the song. “I have known the director for quite some time now and the song that I have sung is a good one. I hope it becomes popular so that I can sing that on stage too” said the singer.

The cast of the film consists of Soumitra Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Debdut Ghosh, Amrita, Swagata Basu, Dwijen Bandyopadhyay and others.

The music is by Debashis Mallick Banerjee and the songs have been sung by Rupankar, Raghav Chatterjee, Trisha Parui and Sushil Shaw.

The story of the film is by Sachinandan Roy. The screenplay is by Sanchayan Chakraborty, Debdut Ghosh.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
