Press Meet of Neck and Head Cancer Survivors Organized
Survivors of Head and Neck Cancer opened up about their fight against the disease and how they made their comeback to normal life at a press conference held recently.
59 year old teacher Biplab Chakraborty underwent cheek gland cancer in 2011 using the modalities of cancer treatment-chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.
Panchu Gopal Aditya is a retired headmaster form Bankura who uses an external device called Electrolarynx when he speaks. He had to undergo Total Laryngectomy (removal of voice box).
Speaking at the event, the patients revealed how they overcame their inhibitions and spoke about cancer. They also said that cancer do not mean that this is the end of your life. Instead it means that a new phase is going to begin in one’s lives- the fight against the deadly disease.
Dr Nipun Saha who had treated Panchu Gopal Aditya was showered with praises by the patient. The way he had made them realize about the steps of the treatment had made him and his family face the disease with courage.
With new state-of-the-art facilities and cutting edge equipment at the cancer centre, one can attain positive outcomes in treating this deadly disease.
