A preview screening of the short fiction film Anurup/Mirror Image took place recently at Nandan 3.

Present at the occasion was the director of the film Kankana Chakraborty, actors Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Mithu Chakrabarty, Sagardweep Deb, Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni and others.

The fifty minutes short fiction narrates the tale of a father and daughter who have been estranged for six long years, they are now manipulated to face each other. Will this solve the situation or make it worse?

Atul Kulkarni has come to Kolkata after a long time. The actor praised the director Kankana and remembered the time when she met her as an actress. “Kankana narrated me stories so wonderfully that I asked her to pursue direction as she was a wonderful story teller. We do not have so many great story tellers in the industry. I am glad she pursued direction and has been making wonderful short films” said Atul Kulkarni.

The actor also said that in order to be a good director, you also have to be a good entrepreneur as the director is in charge of everything and everyone on the sets. Becoming a good story teller is just not enough to be a good director.

Kankana who is working with Sabyasachi Chakrabarty after her last short film “Written By?” mentioned that he is a cool person to work with and his positive attitude makes him a great actor to work with.

The director also revealed that her next venture will be a feature film.

The screening was followed by an interaction with the director and the cast of the short film.
