Pramod Films & Big Day released their latest promotional music video, Ami Aar O for the upcoming Bengali film Palan.

Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Sreela Majumdar, Debapratim Dasgupta, Paoli Dam, Indranil Sen, Ujaan Ganguly, and others attended the music video launch ceremony. 

This song has been composed under the mentorship and supervision of Indraadip Dasgupta. It features the baritone voice of Indranil Sen. Kaushik Ganguly, who has written the heartfelt lyrics for the music video, while Ujaan Ganguly orchestrated the melodious composition. Debayan Banerjee has handled the music production.

 “Nothing is the same after such a long time. Even you and me are not the same. However, the problem persists. The names of the characters are also the same like Mamata Sen, Anjan Sen, and so on. This is a tribute to legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen on his 100^th birth anniversary. Had Mrinal da been alive, I would not have made the film and let him watch it” said the director.

There is no song in the film. The background score has been getting good praise from the audience.

Indraadip Dasgupta said that he wished that he could compose the music for this promotional song. He praised the makers for this song.

Mamata Shankar became nostalgic while speaking about Mrinal Sen. “Mrigaya was my first film and it was close to my heart. However, my favorite film of Mrinal Sen was Kharij. I had worked with Kaushik in one of his earlier films. And then I had not worked in his films. The wait has been worthwhile as I again got to work in a film that is an extension of Kharij” said the veteran actress.

Indranil Sen said “When I was asked by Indraadip to sing this song, I immediately agreed. But when I thought about rendering this song, I thought I would run away. However, this has been a great experience as this is a beautiful song”.

Anjan Dutt plays Anjan Sen in the film. “Even serious films can have songs. It is a completely wrong misconception that serious films cannot have songs. The song consists of the essence of the film. It would have been great if the song could be added to the end credits of this film” said the actor.

Anjan Dutta said that Mrinal Sen shot serious films while cracking jokes. “It was fun making films with Mrinal da,” said the actor.

Neel Dutt said “I am the only person after the director who has seen the film so many times. I have tried to do justice to the visuals and narrative of the film while composing the music. Until the film releases and we get the feedback from the audience, it will not be possible to understand whether I have succeeded or not”.

While speaking about her experiences, Paoli Dam said “Kharij is one of my favorite films. I never got to act in Mrinal Sen’s films. But with this film, I could relish the experience of working in his films as this is an extension of Kharij. However, my character Paoli Sen is a creation of Kaushik da. I am grateful to be a part of this project”.

‘Ami Aar O’ will be available for viewing on social media.

Palan is slated for release on 22^nd September.
