Purbashree Relaunched At Dakshinapan, Kolkata; Aims To Promote Craft Tourism
North Eastern Handicrafts & Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (NEHHDC) relaunched Purbashree in Kolkata. The inauguration was done in the presence of Brig. R K Singh (Retd), Managing Director of North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Ltd.
This is a one-stop location for different handloom and handicrafts products of North East India. This covers the eight states of North East India namely Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
NEHHDC brings handicrafts and handloom products directly from the artisans and weavers across the region.
Apart from promoting the handloom of the North-East states, there will be a travel desk outside the store. The tourists will be guided for traveling to various North-East places. Craft tourism will be promoted. With this, the store will be promoting unexplored places in the North-East and not the usual beautiful locales that one usually visits.
An export desk is also there from where products that are high in demand abroad can be exported to other countries.
With this relaunch, an exotic range of handloom and handicrafts will be available to the people of Kolkata.
