Over the past few years, trade between India and Australia has flourished. Six mining, equipment, technology, and services (METS) businesses from Queensland (Australia) recently visited India to deepen the two nations’ already-growing cooperation.

Australia has one of the greatest mineral reserves in the world and a long and rich history as a profitable mining nation. It has a thriving mining sector with top-notch machinery and technology. Additionally, as a result of technological advancements like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the traceability of mineral elements, more and more businesses are eager to create international efficiency and safety standards.

Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), closely working with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), participated in the International Mining & Machinery Exhibition (IMME) 2022 in light of the growing momentum in the mining sector between India and Australia. Six of Queensland’s top METS firms participated in the event, which took place in Kolkata from November 16–19, 2022, and displayed their top-tier skills.

The following are the six Queensland companies that visited India:

India and Australia inked the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) in April 2022, with the support of their respective governments. This agreement is important for the growth of trade and the stability of the Asia-Pacific region given the changing dynamics in the region.

In actuality, METS is a field where Australia’s Queensland state leads the world. In the fields of mining consulting, exploration technologies, mining software, processing components and systems, environmental and mineral quality technologies, safety equipment, and mining skilling, their enterprises have a competitive advantage.

There is little doubt that several new partnerships will form in the upcoming months as a result of the visit to India by Queensland METS businesses and the favorable regulatory environment.
