Director Raj Chakraborty’s next film is a political drama named Amma. The director had earlier also made a film on political issue. He made the film Proloy based on the story of Barun Biswas. And in this new film, the director will be showing a problem in a border area. In this area, problems arise based on religion and caste. Murder and bloodshed is a thing which is very common in this area. Three characters in the film take shelter in the house of an aged lady. A girl stays at her house to look after her. A complicated situation arises involving the lives of these five characters.

All the characters have a past and this gets interlinked with their present.

Swatilekha Sengupta will be seen in the role of Amma. This is the first time she will be acting in his film. Ritwick Chakraborty, Subhashree, Soham will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. Parno Mittra will also be acting in this film and this is her first work with the director.

The shooting of the film will begin in middle of September. Raj Chakraborty will be producing the film. The screenplay is by Padmanabha Dasgupta.

The director is awaiting the release of his other film Parineeta which is eyeing for release soon.
