“Rajasthan Does Not Have Vibrant Film Culture”- Director Jigar Nagda
A Boy Who Dreamt Of Electricity is a 72-minute-long film directed by Jigar Nagda. The director graced the press conference of the film along with a cast member at the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival.
The story of the film revolves around Bheru, aged 21 is from a tribal community. He resides in an interior hilly village in West Rajasthan. His family consists of his father and mother. They work as farm laborers for the village Sarpanch. His house has no electricity. He decides to get an electricity connection for his home. Does he succeed in bringing electricity to his home?
The director has worked for the last ten years as an assistant director to directors like Onir, Manish Gupta, and Anurag Kashyap. His debut feature film is I Love You Ashwariya.
“Rajasthan does not have a film culture like Mumbai or Kolkata or Chennai. This is a drawback. However, I wanted to make a film in my language, Mewari. Hence I made a low-budget film that will enable me to share this story” said director Jigar Nanda.
The film has been produced by Jigar Nagda.
The music has been composed by Keshav Kundal.
This film has been selected under Competition On Indian Language Films.
