Hoichoi’s new Original, Srikanto is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic. The press conference of Srikanto combined two major elements of fashion and music.

The lead star cast of the show Sohini Sarkar, Rishav Basu, Shreema Bhattacherjee, and Angana Roy, walked on the ramp along with the city’s prominent Influencers, showcasing the designs of various independent brands.

The series also stars Madhumita Sarcar and Tamil actor Gayathrie Shankar. Gayathrie is making her debut in the world of Bengali entertainment with Srikanto.

A pop-up for the indie clothing and jewelry brands like Abeo, Cuprum Quirks, Hiya, Stree, and Butterfly Tree also was present at the event.

The original is directed by Sani Ghose Ray.

The musicians of Srikanto, namely Anis Ahmed, Pralay Sarkar, Debayan Banerjee, and Srijita Mitra performed live throughout the event. After receiving an amazing response for its’ two previously released songs, Amake Nao and O Radhe Radhe, the event also witnessed the launch of the third song from the album of Srikanto, “Rajyopath”.

“Srikanto has been a journey of rediscovering the eternally celebrated tale of Srikanto and Rajlokkhi will be shown in a way that has never been seen before. The audience’s enthusiasm for Srikanto’s music has me speechless” said Sohini Sarkar.

Rishav Basu, who will be seen in the role of Srikanto, said, “Srikanto is a novel that has a special place in my heart; I first read it as a student and was enamored with the character’s adventurous bohemianism. Srikanto is someone with whom I can identify. Sani Ghose Ray and Utsav Mukherjee did an outstanding job of weaving a modern story around Sharatchandra’s masterpiece while maintaining the essence of his work. Thanks to hoichoi for re-telling classics in the past, and thanks to hoichoi for this grand celebration of Srikanto. I’m hoping that this one will also touch the audience’s hearts. After all, Srikanto is about the rise and fall of love.”

Srikanto will stream on hoichoi from the 14^th of April.
