Ram Kamal Mukherjee who is an author turned filmmaker has been conquering the attention of the audiences with the amazing films that he has been making. The director completed the shoot of his fourth film Broken Frame in Kolkata with the lead cast Rohit Bose Roy and Ritabhari Chakraborty.

Ram Kamal’s earlier films were Cakewalk, Season’s Greetings, and Rickshawala. This Hindi film Broken Frame is based on his own novel Long Island Iced Tea. This is his fourth film shot in Kolkata.

According to Rohit, Ram Kamal is a taskmaster. He has known Ram Kamal when he was a journalist. He had watched films like Cakewalk and Season’s Greetings. The actor expressed his desire to work with the director. And after some months, Ram Kamal contacted him for the role in Broken Frame.

Broken Frame is about a married couple who is planning to celebrate their wedding anniversary. However, due to some events, something goes terribly wrong on their anniversary. What went wrong between the two is the crux of the story.

The director felt that Rohit is a fantastic actor. He is like an elder brother who helped in improvising shots with his valuable inputs.

Ram Kamal has seen Ritabhari’s work with Anurag Kashyap in Fool For Love and her Bengali film Bhrambha Janen Gopon Kommoti. She is an extremely talented actor. During the script narration she had jotted down points which she wanted to discuss and once her doubts were cleared, she was fully into the character.

The screenplay is by Sameer Satija and the music has been composed by Shhailendra Kkumar. The film is shot by Modhura Palit in Kolkata and produced by Aritra Das, Sarbani Mukherjee, and Gaurav Daga.

Broken Frame incidentally is the first story of Long Island Iced Tea. Ram Kamal felt this story has an instant connection with the readers. He did make a few changes for adapting to the screen.
