Rangakarmee organized Samanway-9 – Theatre Festival 2021 from 06-10 March, 2021 at the Usha Ganguli Mancha, Rangakarmee Studio Theatre.

Samanway-9 is a cultural variety of art forms from varied creative spheres performed on one platform. Art forms like puppetry, mime, and plays will be performed by different groups represented by extremely talented artists from different fields.

Samanway was conceptualized by Rangakarmee founder (late) Mrs. Usha Ganguli.

The festival was inaugurated at the Usha Ganguli Mancha. This was followed by Rangakarmee group’s Sarhadein, a play directed by Niladree Bhattacharya. The event also saw the felicitation of director Gautam Ghose by Sohag Sen and members of Rangakarmee.

Speaking at the event, Gautam Ghose said “Usha Ganguli passed away suddenly. However, her body of works will always be remembered by many generations. Theatre festival by Rangakarmee will be a great initiative for the art lovers”.

On 07 March, Anondo Mohol South Garia will perform Mukti, a play directed by Sourav Mukhopadhay, Dolls Theatre group will present Taming of the Wild, a puppet show directed by Sudip Gupta.

On 08 March, Bhimroti group will perform Panchkaan, a play directed by Dipankar Sen. The Soma Mime theatre’s Devi, a mime performance directed by Soma Das.

On 09 March, Director Probir Guha’s play, Colours of Love will be performed by the Alternative Living Theatre group. Director Mahmud Alam’s play, Safarnama performed by Janus Centre for Visual and Performing Arts will also be performed.

On 10 March: Director Anik Ghosh’s play, Balai will be performed by Jadavpur Manthan. Director Sujan Mukhopadhyay’s play, Girgiti will be performed by the Chetana group.
