The launch of Shalini Modi’s engrossing new book, “Rasas in Divine Relationships” took place at the renowned Oxford Bookstore. Prominent figures from the fields of spirituality, culture, and the arts graced the occasion, including renowned Manipuri performer Priti Patel and distinguished drama facilitator and author Baisali Chatterjee Dutt.

“Rasas in Divine Relationships,” published by Rupa Publications, presents a distinctive viewpoint on the interaction between feelings and heavenly relationships.

The book skillfully combines the enlightening idea of “rasas” from the Natya Shastra with ancient texts including the Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. It examines how these feelings influence the lives of divine couples, offering a novel and provocative perspective on these ageless tales. Because they are portrayed as being susceptible to some of the most base impulses and vices, these fantastical figures, around which we mortals build our belief system, are relatable to the current generations.

The book was unveiled to kick off the launch event, and Baisali Chatterjee Dutt hosted an interesting panel discussion. Author Shalini Modi and panelist Priti Patel explored the role of rasas in human and heavenly interactions.

A wide range of artists, authors, and performers attended the evening’s celebration of culture, art, and spirituality. The audience’s fascinating questions at the end of the session enhanced the conversation about the significant influence of rasas.
