Reshmi Mitra’s Borobabu’s Trailer Launch To Take Place At NABC, New Jersey
The trailer for director Reshmi Mitra’s biopic on Shishir Kumar Bhaduri, Borobabu will be launched at NABC, New Jersey.
For announcing this exciting piece of news, the director along with Sudipta Chakraborty, Sujan Neel Mukherjee, Supratim Roy, and others graced the press conference.
The movie largely focuses on the conflict in his personal life, torn between his companionship with Prabha Devi (Sudipta Chakraborty) and his relationship with Kankabati (Paayel Sarkar), an important figure in Sisir Babu’s life who appeared in Shishir Kumar’s theatre production.
While this biopic does not accurately portray historical events, it does place them in the context of Sisir Kumar Bhadhuri’s illustrious career and life. The main focus of the movie is the struggle of the actor’s personal life brought on by the relationship between Prabha Debi and Kankabati, who both performed in Sisir Kumar’s theatre and added emotion to the actor’s life. Prabha was a fantastic actor, and everyone complimented her acting abilities. However, Sisir Kumar was a professor of English who left college to participate in a new wave of theatre, and Prabha lacked formal education.
The director said “Many people have questioned why I cast Sujan as Shishir Kumar Bhaduri. I just felt he will be the perfect match for this role. He has good theatre knowledge and the amount of research he did for the role is mind-blowing. He did all he could do as an actor. But the amount of hard work he did for portraying the character is amazing. I will like to work with him again”.
Paayel Sarkar, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu, and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
Speaking at the event, Sudipta Chakraborty said “Even before we can watch the trailer, people in New Jersey will watch it. It feels great and I am glad that I was part of such an amazing film. Biopics are not much made in Bengal. And a biopic on Shishir Kumar Bhaduri was a much-awaited film. I am glad the director made this film. I must also thank the producer for taking the guts to produce such a film”.
Sujan Neel Mukherjee credited the director for taking pains for ten years to conduct the research on Shishir Kumar Bhaduri and then make the film. He also said that he was grateful that the director liked his portrayal of the legendary man.
The music of the film has been composed by Bickram Ghosh.
The director and the cast all are looking forward to when the film will finally release on the big screens.
