The main topic discussed at this event was the effect of environmental pollution on respiratory health in childhood. The doctors attending the medical conference shed light on the bad effects of air pollution, and how it led to the development of diseases like asthma, bronchitis, and other chronic respiratory problems.

More than 700 delegates are expected to attend this medical conference.

The doctors at the conference highlighted the need for multidisciplinary approaches, advocating collaborative efforts between doctors, lawmakers, and environmental experts. Through such combined efforts the ill effects of pollution can be mitigated and young lungs can be saved.

Dr. Pallab Chatterjee said “Not only environmental pollution, but air quality in homes is also often not good. Proper ventilation is necessary. Avoiding burning mosquito coils while sleeping is also a way of protecting young children’s lungs. Proper cleaning of air conditioners is also vital in maintaining good respiratory health”.

The conference will continue till the 5th of November at ITC Royal Bengal.
