Windows announced its next venture, Dabaru. The occasion was graced by the cast and crew of the film.

The creative producers of the project are Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, while it will be directed by director, Pathikrit Basu.

The inspirational account of Surja, a young chess player who emerged from North Kolkata’s back alleys to become a grandmaster, will be narrated in Dabaru. The ‘Youngest Grand Master of India’, Surya Sekhar Ganguly, is the inspiration for the tale.

At the ages of 16, and 19, Ganguly attained the titles of International Master and Grandmaster. In national and international competitions, he has won 40 individual gold, 21 individual silver, and 6 individual bronze medals. The film will narrate this amazing journey of the young chess player.

Pathikrit Basu said “I was earlier an assistant director with Windows. And to now direct a film under Windows is a great feeling. Windows has been making amazing films for the past many years and with Dabaru we hope to reach the same heights again”.

Dabaru, stars Rituparna Sengupta, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Dipankar De, Kaushik Sen, Shankar Chakraborty, Kharaj Mukherjee, and others.

For Rituparna Sengupta, Windows is like her second home. She was looking forward to working with Pathikrit.

With a great storyline and an amazing line-up of actors, Dabaru will be one film to look out for!!
