“I had lent my voice in some of my films for a few lines. But this is the first time that I sang a full song. Thanks to Bappi da who is like my extended family, I got the chance to sing this fantastic folk song Phoolmoti. I hope that the audience appreciates me in my new endeavor” said Rituparna Sengupta at the song launch of Phoolmoti.

The event took place at Shree Siddhivinayak Devasthanam Mandir, Kolkata.

Rituparna, Arjun, and Surojit also offered their prayers to Lord Ganesh at the temple.

Gracing the occasion was Surojit Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty, and other guests.

This song also marks the celebration of the golden jubilee year of Bappi Lahiri in the music industry.

Rituparna Sengupta said “I am honored that I could work with Bappi da when he is celebrating his golden jubilee year in the music industry. I was in Mumbai shooting when I got a call from him. He asked me to sing this song. I was not sure whether I could sing the song. He said that I could do this. He was so sweet and kind that he waited for me and we recorded the song late at night. The recording was done in two days. On the first day, we rehearsed the song, and on the second day, we recorded the song. It was an amazing experience”.

“I am flabbergasted and mesmerized at the fact that Ritu (Rituparna) could sing so well. I know that she can do anything she sets her mind to and this time also she has lived up to our expectations. I wish her all the best and hope she pursues this in the future too” said Arjun Chakraborty.

The song has been programmed by Bappi Lahiri and the lyrics have been penned down by Lipi.

Surojit Chatterjee praised Rituparna for taking up this challenge of singing the song and working with the legendary disco king, Bappi Lahiri. He opined that this song will play at all the Puja pandals during the upcoming Durga Puja.

With this song, Rituparna Sengupta adds another feather to her cap of achievements!!
