The screening of the short film Achin Pakhi took place recently. Present at the situation was Rituparna Sengupta, director Saikat Das and many others.

The film revolves around Shom and Dip. They are in a relationship but due to the societal norms, they had to face hardships regularly. However their love for each other overcomes these struggles. Dip becomes a victim of the dangerous ailment AIDS. As a result, their relationship goes through ups and downs. Will they be able to surpass it?

The story, script and screenplay are by Saikat Das.

Suman Nayak and Amit Basu will be seen in important roles in the short film.

Speaking at the screening, Rituparna Sengupta said “I have always supported new talents. So when I was invited to the screening, I immediately said yes. Talents have to be nurtured and encouraged. Only then can the industry grow”.

The film has already been sent to festivals like Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, LGBTQ Short Film Festival 2019, Pune PMPISFF 2019 and other such festivals.
