Durga Puja is just around the corner and Kolkata is gearing up to welcome the Mother Goddess. BIG FM has undertaken the drive for an eco-friendly and green Durga Puja. The campaign is called BIG Green Durga.

Renowned Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta is the face of this campaign.

BIG FM will embark on this eco-friendly drive across Kolkata to help the city in welcoming the Goddess Durga responsibly.

Throughout the entire campaign, BIG FM will be conducting a waste collecting drive throughout Kolkata’s neighborhoods, schools, universities, and workplaces. In an effort to promote a better environment, BIG FM will collect used clothing, outdated newspapers, and other materials and shape them into the image of the goddess Durga. The idol will then be crafted by the best artisans with attention to aesthetic appeal. Some of West Bengal’s most well-known radio personalities, including RJs Koushik, Pamela, Sumanta, and Moubani, will conduct a series of engagements at each station to spread holiday cheer throughout Kolkata, adding excitement to BIG Green Durga.

Rituparna Sengupta said, “It is our responsibility to make Kolkata a green city for our future generations. We also have to promote sustainable living. And Durga Puja is the perfect time for promoting this. I am happy to be associated with such a noble initiative during the Durga Puja”.

The annual initiative, which began on 1^st September 2022, will end in Durga Puja that will take place from 01 Oct to 05 Oct at the Kund area, City Centre 1.

The Green Durga idol will be adored with great devotion, and there will also be cultural events to entertain the audience. By promoting awareness among its devoted audience worldwide through its BIG Green Durga project, BIG FM confirms its dedication to preserving the environment.
