Sada Ronger Prithibi, directed by Raajhorshee De, is a thriller film that explores the issue of widow trafficking in India. Through its unusual storyline, the film pays tribute to Kashi, which continues to be a popular destination for widows in India. After the cast and crew of Sada Ronger Prithibi launched their music, Dr. Sohini Sastri’s book was launched at Glook in Kolkata.

One of Kolkata’s Best Astrologers is Dr. Sohini Sastri. She is well known for her ability to accurately foresee the future. Her extensive understanding of the celestial body alignment and how it affects living things is her greatest asset. She is a KP Astrologer, knowledgeable in Vastu, palmistry, traditional astrology, and other related fields.

Speaking at the event, the director said “White represents three things in the film. Firstly it represents peace. Secondly, it represents the white clothes that widows wear. And thirdly, it shows the bleakness in the lives of the women”.

The colorless world of Varanasi widows, whose lives are as bleached as their white sarees, is explored by Sada Ronger Prithibi. However, the immaculate façade conceals the cunning schemes of criminal bosses who want to take advantage of these poor women. When a young police officer arrives to investigate the shelter, things become more complicated. She doesn’t realize the dangers she would face when she assumes the identity of one of the detainees to discover the truth. In her quest to combat the evil that lurks in plain sight, will she be able to withstand political pressure and other threats?

Sada Ronger Prithibi is presented by Adarsh Telemedia and Amit Agarwal and produced by Sushant Sengupta, Shrravonii Pal, and Raajhorshee De.

The cast of the film consists of Srabanti Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Arindam Sil, Rwitobrata Mukherjee, Sneha Chatterjee, Mallika Banerjee, Devlina Kumar, Ananya Banerjee, Richa Sharma, Sohini Guharoy, Deboshree Ganguly, Oindrilla Bose, Arunava Dery, Ishaan Mazumdar, Monalisha Banerjee, Anuradha Choudhury and a special guest appearance by Subhrajit Mitra.

The music has been composed by Ashu Chakraborty.

The film will release on 23rd February, 2024.
