Sanjana Sanghi Looked Magical As Showstopper For Designer Anju Modi
The “Damayanti” collection by Anju Modi, presented by the TENCEL fiber brand during Lakmé Fashion Week in collaboration with FDCI, was a beautiful runway display that evoked a bygone passion.
Anju’s appearance for the show mirrored the western techniques and styles that were pioneered by the artist when the collection was displayed on the runway, and it was inspired by the ethereal paintings of the renowned Indian artist Raja Ravi Varma, whose muse was Damayanti. The organic saris were beautiful, and the hand-crafted silhouettes expressed a unique design language.
The goal of Anju’s design philosophy has always been to support the nation’s artisans, and for the new collection this season, TENCELTM lyocell and modal fibers worked flawlessly with it. The TENCELTM fiber brand’s commitment to producing products of the highest caliber and environmental responsibility was consistent throughout the line displayed at this event. The inclusion of TENCELTM fibers improves the appearance of the line while also making the clothing for the wearer incredibly cozy and breathable.
The saris were draped in a variety of traditional styles and beautifully embroidered by hand. The popular 6-yard drape’s vivid colors were expertly bordered with striking, shimmering borders that stayed true to the Raja Ravi Varma influence. Anju imagined a style that was pure poetry on the runway, and the opulent TENCELTM lyocell and modal fibers added to the collection’s grace and elegance.
When she finished the show wearing a black/gold draped dhoti, a maroon bralette, topped with black, velvet, embroidered bolero, and a royal purple dupatta with gold embellishments, actress Sanjana Sanghi worked her dramatic, magical magic on the catwalk.
The “Damayanti” collection from TENCELTM and Anju Modi was a magnificent, nostalgic, and romantic look at fashion that would appeal to shoppers who want art as well as style in their fashion tales in the coming months.
