After making films like Black Coffee, Atwaja, Biplab Aaj o Kaal , director Atanu Bose is geared up to give life to his dream project. The dream project is a film on the life of the legendary Bengali actor Uttam Kumar. The film has been titled Achena Uttam.

The movie will showcase the life of Uttam Kumar. It will begin straight from childhood, show the ups and downs of the star’s life and also throw light on many unknown facets of his life.

Saswata Chatterjee plays Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, Tirtharaj Bose plays the young Uttam Kumar. The characters played by the other actors in the film are mentioned below.

Kolkata and North Bengal play pivotal characters in the movie.

Saswata Chattopadhyay said that playing difficult characters is always challenging. However, playing Uttam Kumar is very difficult and no amount of preparation is enough to portray him on the big screen.

The research and development have been done by Sibasish Bandhyopadhyay, the cinematography is being handled by Supriyo Dutta. The music is being composed, recreated by Upali.

The movie is being produced by Alaknanda Arts under the mentorship of Mr. Pramod Anant.

The movie will go on floors from April’2021.
