Savor Amazing Hilsa Delicacies At Hilsa Festival At Naboday Club, Baranagar
The name Baranagar appears in medieval Bengali literature. The oldest city in Kolkata is Baranagar. Baranagar’s history is intertwined with illustrious Bengali figures like Sri Chaitanya, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Girish Chandra Ghosh, Sister Nivedita, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Manik Bandhopadhyay, Shishir Bhaduri, and Sanjib Chattopadhyay,
This town’s historic forest houses continue to serve as a testament to its lengthy architectural heritage. In Baranagar, one can find the remnants of the independence warriors still dispersed everywhere. A Hilsa festival will take place this time for the first time in Baranagar’s history.
“Rajatvarna Manohardarshan Matsyakulraj Mahan Ilish” is what one says when they refer to Hilsa. Because of this, the Hilsa festival’s organizers, Sanjeev Basak and Sourav Mandal declared that a variety of dishes, including Hilsa Paturi, Garlic Coconut Hilsa, Hilsa Hariyali, Hilsa Shukta, Hilsa Roasted Khichri, Hilsa Biryani, Hilsa Palang, Hilsa Mashed, Hilsa Korma, etc., will be made available at this festival.
In other words, only Hilsa will be present during the entire culinary festival. From 12 noon to 10 pm on Sunday, July 17, there will be a great celebration of Hilsa at the Naboday Club premises. Several prominent and successful members of the community will be in attendance on this day.
