Department of Architecture, Jadavpur University conducted an R& D project on ‘ Impact of Urbanization on birds habit’. The project is completed and has already been submitted to Government.

As part of their ongoing outreach efforts, they planned different levels of workshops for students in different grade levels.

• A photography competition for college/ university students
• Poster competition for high school students
• Essay competition for school students
• Bird nest workshops for Architecture students from all schools of Architecture in West Bengal
• Pakhi-Ghar workshops for students in schools in Kolkata

The program was a public education campaign about the value of bird species in urban areas.

Students from different schools made bird nests to attract birds of different species. They put those nests in the different parks in the area.

Following a cultural program on “Birds”, there was a prize distribution.

Numerous people and organizations have supported the series of events over a three-year period.
