ILEAD organized a screening for the film “1971 India’s Finest Hour” at PVR located in Mani Square.

The event was graced by the Chief of Staff Mr. Repswal, The Top Brass of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, High officials of Border Security Force, Calcutta Police, and the GOC of the Bengal area.

The story starts with India’s independence up to the liberation of Bangladesh by the Indian Army. The film is made only with the archival footage sourced from various archives from the world over e.g Indian Film division, BBC, British Pathe, Voice of America. It took the iLEAD Research Team almost two years to do the research. After reading almost 200 books written on the Bangladesh Liberation War, the script was written. These included books written by the Pakistani General like A A.K Niazi and many others.

The film took almost 2 years to complete and took another 2 years to get it cleared from the censor board. The script and the film were finally cleared by the Hon’ble Defence Minister Mrs. Sitaraman.

The film screening was also graced by Principals of several colleges and schools.

ILEAD will next make another film named “The Transfer of Power” which covers India’s Independent movement and a biopic on the life of Mrs. Gandhi who played a major role in 1971 in the Bangladesh Liberation War.
