A mist-covered hill station serves as the setting for the suspense thriller “Seven,” which centers on five friends named Subir (Rahul Arunoday Banerjee), Bibek (Gaurav Chakrabarty), Namita (Ridhima Ghosh), Ananta (Suprobhat Das), and Ria (Ankitaa Chakraborty) who find a bag with a gun and stacked-up cash while traveling. The world revolves around money, blurring the distinctions between good and bad and causing an irreversible dent in their bond. What initially seems like a jackpot turns out to be a curse as rifts appear among them. Will their relationship endure the allure of wealth? Can money make a person change or show their true colors?

A one-to-one interaction with the cast of the series was organized. The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with the cast about the new series.

Directed by Anjan Dutt, the cast consists of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, Anjan Dutt, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Ridhima Ghosh, Suprobhat Das, Ankitaa Chakraborty, and others in pivotal roles.

Anjan Dutt, the director of the series said “I have been watching web series for a long time. I used to hire from the video library. When this became popular, I had to think of the medium as a maker. It is an exciting platform. After making some series, I have a better understanding as a maker. Seven is a mature work that I have created. I have come out with a better product”.

Gaurav said “This is a story of five friends who hail from a similar background to us. Bibek is an upright person. He does not lie. He ran a restaurant once. His mother became sick and to look after her, his business had to shut down. When they get the bag of money, Bibek understands that his problem can be solved with this bag of money. But is this a good decision to take the money?”.

The music of the series has been composed by Neel Dutt. “This is a web series that is close to my heart. I have been part of the series from the conceptual stage. This is not only a thriller but also a story of friendship. I have been able to work with many old associations like Nachiketa, Durnibar, and Anjan Dutt. They have sung songs for this series. It has been a wonderful experience” said Neel Dutt.

Speaking about her character, Ankitaa said “This is my second work with ZEE5 and I also got a chance to work again with Anjan da. This is a refreshing story. I have done different kinds of characters. And this one was a great role to portray. The audience will find the character refreshing to watch”.

Ridhima who plays Namita in the series said “The character has grey shades and this is unlike any character that I have played before. Working with Anjan Dutt has been dream come true for me. I have been a fan of his works and songs for a long time now. He gives space to his actors and makes them feel so comfortable. Given a chance, I will like to more films with him”.

The series consists of seven episodes.

Seven is slated for release on ZEE5 on 17^th March.
