Shahjahan Regency has been much in the news since the day it was announced. The special screening of the film was held recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Present at the occasion was director Srijit Mukherji, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee and so on.

The story of the film is based on eminent Bengali writer Shankar’s bestselling novel Chowringhee. The novel has been treated in a modern manner so as to suit the tastes of the audience.

“Every classics need to be reinvented and reinterpreted in some new manner. Or else the story will become stagnant. With this story, I have tried the same thing. We just hope that the audience likes it” said Srijit Mukherji.

The cast and crew cut a cake on the occasion to mark the release of the film.
