Sensei Premjit Sen’s lessons proved to be nothing short of revolutionary, drawing a sizable contingent of women from the neighborhood. He made sure that each participant was left with the knowledge and skills necessary to defend herself in any circumstance by demonstrating realistic and potentially fatal self-defense tactics. As the craftsmanship of the Durga Puja Pandal, inspired by Dokra, was revealed, the occasion was graced with the spirit of Durga Puja, symbolizing the strength of women. This was more than simply a celebration; it was a call to action, giving women the tools to stand up for their lives and dignity in the face of growing threats to their safety.

This program is more than a celebration, it’s a movement. They are not just teaching self-defense in an era where women’s safety is crucial. They are also laying the groundwork for a strong foundation of empowerment. They are building the foundation for a day when no woman has to walk in dread because they have the strength to take charge of their safety as we celebrate our 75th year.
