Shahrukh Khan Lit The Lamp To Inaugurate the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan along with eminent dignitaries inaugurated the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival at Netaji Indoor stadium in Kolkata.
Apart from Shahrukh Khan, also gracing the occasion was Rakhi Gulzar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Germany”s Oscar winning director Volker Schlondorff, actress Andie MacDowell, Slovak film maker Dusan Hanak, Mahesh Bhatt, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Madhabi Mukherjee, actor-MPs Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty, Shatabdi Roy, Deb Adhikary, Goutam Ghosh and Sandip Ray.
Srabonti Chatterjee was the thali girl at this year’s film festival inaugural event. SRK lit the ceremonial lamp at the event.
The event began with a montage of history of cinema, followed by a short promotional film on Bengal’s film locations made by Parambrata Chatterjee.
Nusrat Jahan presented the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival commemoration trophy to SRK.
Satyajit Ray’s Goopy Gayen Bagha Bayen” was the opening film.
The festival will continue till 15th November.
