To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, a one of its kind initiative titled Sharanya was organized by Aneebee Entertainments.

The event was graced by Zha Liyou, Honourable Consulate General of China in Kolkata, Prof Maria Fernandes, West Bengal Commission for Women, Anita Dutta, Indroneel Mukherjee and others.

The event began with a spirited dance performance by Neelay Sengupta.

Sharanya is an initiative that recognizes not just eminent personalities who worked for the betterment of society but also acknowledges those who are trying to get rid of the evils in the society.

Subhashini Mistry, Pratima Poddar, Ananya Chandra Roy, Swati Dutta, Ajay Mistry were awarded at the event.

The evening witnessed a fashion show where the defiant acid attack survivors walked the ramp with eminent models of Kolkata. A powerful message about redefining society was shared through the show.

The program was followed by a play which narrated the life story of an acid attack survivor.
